S-Corp Election (Form 2553)
Form 2553 elects S tax treatment for an eligible corporation or LLC. Under S treatment, business income and losses generally pass through to the owners’ personal tax returns instead of being taxed at the entity level — but the election has eligibility rules and a filing deadline, and it is not the right choice for every business.
Eligibility rules are set by the IRS, and the IRS decides the election. S-corp election filing is included in Standard and Premium formation packages where applicable, and is also available as a standalone service for an existing entity.
